Boy George has a team of immigration lawyers working on reversing the denial of his Visa to enter the U.S. The United States denied Boy George's Visa due to outstanding charges of false imprisonment in London, England. The former singer awaits a criminal trial in England on those charges.
"George is astounded at the decision and is having his lawyers here in the States look at it in the hope that someone will change their mind," the statement read.
George is best known as the singer of '80s pop group Culture Club, with hits including "Karma Chameleon" and "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?" He quit the band in 1987 and embarked on a short solo career before reinventing himself as a club DJ and launching a fashion label, B-Rude.
Will Boy George be able to reverse the denial of his Visa? Maybe, but it's unlikely. In the hands of some very skilled immigration attorneys, everything is possible, but this really comes down to a judgment call that the State Department is free to make.
