| I have a question above removing dog urine smells from carpet. My dog peed on our carpet in the guest room a while back. I honestly don't know when he urinated on the carpet because we hardly ever go into that room. Anyways, that room stinks so bad now! It is a seriously foul odor! I need to find out how to clean up the old dog urine smell from that carpet. I tried using baking powder, pine sol, and a wet vac. None of these have cut a dent into that pee pee smell from our dog. Well, they help for a little bit, but when you come back later in the day the smell is still there. It may even be getting worse. I thought about hiring a carpet cleaning company to get the dog pee smell out of the carpet, but I would really like to do this ourselves. Any suggestions folks? I would really appreciate it. This foul odor from our pet is really starting to drive us bonkers!!! ![]() |

| Here's what I found on removing pet odors (your dog's pee) out of the carpet Stacey. I hope it helps: Clean the spot up once so it appears gone. Then apply a professional carpet cleaner called a.r.a. onto the spot and let dry. It will not come back. Its a colorless cleaner that fills the top of the carpet that would normally wick back too. You can probably get it on the internet but I no for sure you can get it from PetSmart where i get most of my pet supplies. Its a little pricey but its works excellent. If that doesn't work, try this one: The best commercial products on the market right now for urine problems are made by CTI Proschoice you can purchase from professional carpet supply houses or online at www dot proschoice. My recommendation if you have both stain and odor is the OSR (Odor and Stain Remover) or for stain only you cannot beat the USR (Urine Stain Remover). Or this one: Rubbing alcohol works great for urine smells - doesn't matter what caused the smell. I learned this on accident, my girls got lice so I was spraying everything with alcohol. Their was a spot on their carpet where the cat had peed, and another spot on one of the beds where my nephew had wet the bed. The next day the smells were gone. Also, if you catch an animal or child peeing on something spray it down instantly with amonia (windex has amonia). It will KEEP it from smelling. Good luck with that dog pee problem!! |
