I have used regular eye drops on our dogs several times. We didn't have any problems with it, but you may want to call a vet just to make sure.

Thank you, I will give the vet a buzz... by the way, the eye drops are just the basic type nothing for redness or any thing like that.

Your vetinaranian would be the best bet.
However if i may I'd say that regular daily application can have deleterious effects in the longer run.
I'd rather refrain for daily application.

I agree that your vet is your best option regarding this. While those kind of eye applications may not hurt your dog if used for the first time or even used sparingly, still I believe it is best to consult your vet before putting anything on your dog's eyes. He/she is in the best position to know what's appropriate for your dog's condition.

Eye drops can sometime help and sometime be irritating to the eyes, and we cant decide those things on our own, and thats why the vet is there to suggest.
Some eye drops having a particular relaxing action can also be fatal as every animal doesnt have the same immune response and same action response to chemicals. Did you consult the vet before starting to give her the drops?
