How often do you bathe your dogs? I have two clients that come every single Friday to get there maltese's a bath. These dogs do not have any skin problems and have a very nice coat. I have no idea why they feel a need to bath weekly. Lots of groomers will tell you that you can even bath a dog daily if you use the right shampoo, while others will tell you that once a month is fine, and others will tell you only bathe if they are dirty. What do you think? I go with the once a month thing. However Ruckus gets a bath twice a month because he is allergic to grass and in the spring/summer he gets irritated, and in the winter/fall he gets dry skin. Chance has a wonderful coat that doesnt even need brushing but a quick 3 minute brushing once a week, and he fur repels dirt super good! I could get buy without bathing him but once every two months. I keep my dogs cleaner and brushed more than most people. it really bugs me to have a slightly unkept, stinky dog in bed with me, and laying in my lap. And to me, if I cannot smell Ruckus medicated shampoo anymore, then that means he needs another bath. And with Chance, if he starts smelling like dog again he gets a bath.

I usually do mine once every 2 or three months. I try not to do more often then that because it can wash away the oils and stuff and thats not good for dogs.

I bath my dog once a week. I read from a website about the frequency of bathing our dogs depends on us and when they get soiled. That's how they described it. In my experience, I observed that my dog does not smell good 5 to 6 days after the last bath.

My vet recommends that they not be bathed any more than once a week. He said that if it is done more frequently it dries out the skin and can cause problems with the skin. I use a groomer's cologne on mine when they don't smell wonderful between bathings and there is also a shampoo you can buy that you don't have to use water with. Its good for between times. I also use hair conditioner on my poodles its safe for them and it makes their curls easier to manage.

| Our dog, Bodjie, gets a bath about once in every two weeks. Usually, that is. But there are times when we bath him once in a week, or even once in a month. He gets a bath more frequently when he is soiled or when he starts to small bad. But there are times when we get to give him a bath when we are too busy with doing other things to do that, or when the weather is foul (hence, the temperature is low and the surroundings is cold) for many days.

Are doggie colognes safe for dogs? What if they bite their skin (if it's itchy) and you placed cologne on that part? Same question with dog powder.

I keep it to every 10 days and reduce it to every 7 days during the summers. I don't think cologne is of any help. you sould probably refrain from them.
