Is the the breed or the personality of the dog more important to you. I see people so often going for pure-bread dogs and not mutts and I absolutely love my dog - and hes a mutt. He is so well behaved and I would not trade him for a pure-bread!

For me, it doesn't really matter if it is pure-breed or not. What I always consider in getting a dog is the fur. As much as possible, I like dogs which are not furry. Other than that, I have no more specific considerations. I always love dogs ![]()

If you are a dog lover then this should not matter. Basically you would like a no fuss dog. Other than that, there should not be any problems. It all depends on how you handle your dog, right?

Honestly, I like mutts better. I can't say why exactly I prefer them...maybe it's just because they are mutts and it's the underdog mentality.

I've had mutts and a couple of mixed breeds since I was a little kid. My one year old lab is my first pure breed. I prefer them both. It really depends on the dog's character. All of my dogs are obedient, playful and sweet so I really don't have that much problems with them except for one regarding the mutts. They tend to be more vicious compared to my Lab, maybe it's because of the nature of my Lab that's why he's so friendly. My mutts would bark at anyone they don't know which make them great guard dogs but they're kind of hard to restrain when we take them for walks.
