We just saw The Happening that premiered today on Friday the 13th. We were so excited, but I'm afraid I have some bad news to share about the M. Night Shyamalan/ Mark Wahlberg movie. Lets go over some reviews, plot, pictures, and The Happening trailer/ preview.

The story was great, but the acting in The Happening was just horrible! There were so many awkward moments that I was actually stunned. Seriously, I would have never thought that Mark Wahlberg would be in such a sucky movie. His wife in The Happening, Zooey Deschanel, was just weird and awkward. You may remember her from a great movie, The Elf, where she was also strange and just a little weird as well. There is also a bit in this movie with a crazy old woman, Betty Buckley, that is beyond bizarre. I am telling you that this movie is just a huge combination of bad acting and bad dialog that explodes onto the screen. As cool as The Happening should have been, it was a complete letdown. The ending sure didn't make it any better either as it was anything but climatic. I give it 1 star out of five. My wife and son give it two stars out of 5. I sure wish we would have saved the $40 and just caught it on DVD. Boo!!!!

The overall plot of The Happening is the only reason I went to see it to begin with, along with the fact that Marky Mark (Marky Wahlberg) was in it. All of a sudden some strange disease starts in Central Park in New York City. This disease/ terrorist even then spreads throughout the North East US. Mark Wahlberg grabs his wife and a friend's kid to escape the city and avoid whatever is causing people to talk strange, freeze, and then kill themselves. It turns out that the plants are spreading a toxin in the air to kill off everyone. Of course there is a huge liberal spin to The Happening because us humans are destroying the planter and the poor trees have to save the Earth. What a bunch of crap. Other than that, it is a cool plot/
