Arrow Is Victoria Beckham Bulimic?

I think Victoria Beckham may be bulimic. Could Posh Spice be suffering from bulimia? Tell me if I am wrong, but Victoria Beckham is just waaaayyyy too skinny! There's nothing wrong with being skinny and all, but it looks to me like the forumer Spice Girls girl has some kind of eating disorder. Don't you think so?

What is bulimia? I checked for a definition to make sure that I wasn't off on this. Bulimia, also called bulimia nervosa, is a psychological eating disorder. Bulimia is characterized by episodes of binge-eating followed by inappropriate methods of weight control (purging). Inappropriate methods of weight control include vomiting, fasting, enemas, excessive use of laxatives and diuretics, or compulsive exercising. Excessive shape and weight concerns are also characteristics of bulimia. A binge is an episode where an individual eats a much larger amount of food than most people would in a similar situation. Binge eating is not a response to intense hunger. It is usually a response to depression, stress or self esteem issues. During the binge episode, the individual experiences a loss of control. However, the sense of a loss of control is also followed by a short-lived calmness. The calmness is often followed by self-loathing. The cycle of overeating and purging usually becomes an obsession and is repeated often. Doesn't that sound exactly like Victoria Beckham to you??

What would cause Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) to suffer from bulimia, if she is? Here's what I found:
Poor body image – Our culture’s emphasis on thinness and beauty can lead to body dissatisfaction, particularly in young women bombarded with media images of an unrealistic physical ideal. Low self-esteem – People who think of themselves as useless, worthless, and unattractive are at risk for bulimia. Things that can contribute to low self-esteem include depression, perfectionism, childhood abuse, and a critical home environment. Dieting – People who diet are much more likely to develop an eating disorder than those who don’t. The deprivation of drastic dieting can trigger binge eating, leading to bulimia’s binge and purge cycle. Appearance-oriented professions or activities – People who face tremendous pressure to look a certain way or stay thin are vulnerable to developing an eating disorder. Those at risk include ballet dancers, models, gymnasts, wrestlers, runners, and actors. Major life changes – Bulimia is often triggered by stressful changes or transitions, such as the physical changes of puberty, going away to college, or the breakup of a relationship. Bingeing and purging may be a misguided attempt to cope with the stress. Biological factors – Eating disorders run in families, indicating a genetic component. Research also shows that low levels of serotonin play a role in bulimia.

If Victoria Beckham does have the eating disorder bulimia, how can we help her? Here is what I found on that: But new research reveals there may be a more effective treatment for anorexia: a form of family therapy that enlists parents' aid in getting their teen-age daughters to eat again and helps to strengthen the young women's autonomy. The treatment, which originated in England, challenges current anorexia treatment because it's relatively short-term, relies mostly on outpatient treatment and boasts lasting success, those involved say. "Overall, patients appear to do remarkably well on this treatment," says James Lock, MD, PhD, a child psychiatrist at Stanford University who's testing the treatment in the United States on a five-year National Institute on Mental Health (NIMH) grant. "I'm amazed at its ability to help patients overcome the acute symptoms of anorexia nervosa."

Of course Posh Spice could be suffering from other eating disorders, or none at all. Some other possible eating disorders Victoria Beckham may have includes anorexia. Anorexia is:
People with anorexia continue to think they are overweight even after they become extremely thin, are very ill or near death. Often they will develop strange eating habits such as refusing to eat in front of other people. Sometimes the individuals will prepare big meals for others while refusing to eat any of it.

So does Victoria Beckham have anorexia, bulimia, or is she just naturally skinny? I don't know, but the following pics make me wonder for sure:

Pictures of Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) showing how skinny she is!

The pic on the left shows Victoria Beckham when she looked healthy. The one on the right shows how she is too skinny now!

See how skinny Posh Spice is now! Obviously she has had breast implants plastic surgery, but look how skinny!

If this pic doesn't show that Victoria Beckham may have bulimia or anorexia, I don't know what would!

What do you guys and gals think???

I don't know if she is anorexic or bulimic, but she must have some eating disorder right? What a shame too. She was so great in the Spice Girls. I remember her as being skinny, but I don't remember Victoria Beckham looking like a skeleton. So sad...

Maybe this will help:
Victoria Beckham's autobiography, Learning to Fly, revealed that the former Spice Girl has experienced a number of symptoms consistent with eating disorders. Beckham may also have been battling anorexia by purging. If a person refuses to maintain a fairly normal body weight, regardless of how weight is lost or kept off, the disorder is a version of anorexia. Some restrict food intake, some will purge food, and some do both.

Nice find Peace! Anyone with eating disorders needs to have serious psychological counseling. It is an extremely dangerous disease. I hope Victoria Beckham finds the help she needs.
