We live in the south. It is so hot here, and I always worry that our cats will get too hot if they stay outside during the day. Our cats like to go in and out all day long, and we have always let them do as they please, but it worries me during the day when it's 100 degrees outside.

I guess that a cat stays cool by hanging out in the shade and not doing much. It seems like their thick hair would make them so hot. Is it possible for a cat to overheat?
