I saw an african grey parrot once. You're not kidding. Those birds can talk their heads off!

I knew about the titles given to hummingbird and penguins but one more that i heard but not entirely sure about it -

Hummingbirds are known to fly backwards too. I wonder how they could do that but birdwatchers claim to observer the backward flight of hummingbirds many times.

And the Swift is the fastest bird in the world. They can reach upto a speed of 160 kmph or 100 mph, amazingly fast for such small less energy birds.
