Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate are playing a sudden death in the 2008 US Open! After 18 holes in the US Open playoffs, they are both tied! They will continue playing until one person wins it all!!

This is about as exciting as it gets in golf folks! I will be back with an update as soon as the match ends.

Here is the report starting from hole 18 on the golf course:

"This is a very reachable par five, but Mediate pulls his drive into a left fairway bunker, eliminating any chance that he can try for the green in two. Woods has hit the fairway, despite grimacing from the pain in his knee on the tee shot, and has only about 217 yards to the pin. Mediate has gotten himself out of the bunker into good shape, but Woods has only a four-iron to the green. He hits the green in two, with an eagle putt of about 50 feet. Mediate, knowing that he probably needs to get his short iron close enough to make birdie to win the tournament, knocks it to about 16 feet. The massive crowd encircling the green is screaming, the expectation of seeing a champion emerge from this toe-to-toe bout lifting everyone's blood pressure. Woods goes first, pacing off the lengthy putt and checking every small break along the expected path of the ball. He leaves himself about a four footer for birdie. Mediate now faces the biggest putt of his career. If he makes it, he wins the U.S. Open, but he pulls it a bit long. Woods calmly makes his birdie putt, meaning Mediate must make his three-footer for par to send the match to sudden death. He does and they're off to the seventh hole as the playoff is extended. Each player has shot an even-par 71."

Tiger Woods wins the 2008 US Open in sudden death!!! On the first hole in sudden death, Tiger scored a par and Mediate had a bogie.
