Have you heard about the new Honda hydrogen car? It's the Honda FCX Clarity. With the price of gas over $4 per gallon, and probably heading to $10 a gallon soon, it's time to start thinking about a car that runs on alternative energy sources. They may cost a bunch now, but these hydrogen cars that do not need gasoline will be coming down in price over the next several years. Here is the scoop I found about the awesome new Honda Hydrogen car called the Honda FCX Clarity:

The new Honda FCX Clarity rolls off the production Honda hydrogen car line. The first ever Honda FCX Clarity is now hitting the streets in the U.S. Honda President Takeo Fukui said, I think American Honda must arbitrarily set the price for the hydrogen. The true cost of the car and the fuel must be pretty high. The hydrogen fuel cell car rolled off a Japanese production line Monday and is headed to southern California.

Gaseous hydrogen is stored in a 5000 psi hydrogen tank. Top speed is 100 mph and range is 270 miles. It feels good driving this car as it uses no petroleum based fuel and it is much easier on the environment. Honda will use a revised and smaller fuel cell stack. . The Honda FCX Clarity is a hydrogen fuel cell automobile manufactured by Honda. This allows consumers to refuel vehicles with hydrogen at home. The FCX is powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

The hydrogen fuel cell car is currently limited because it requires a hydrogen infrastructure that does not exist. You hear a lot of hype about hydrogen fuel cell cars from manufacturers like GM and BMW, but the fact of the matter is that the Honda FCX is the only hydrogen car to hit the market.

The real problem for those of us that want to jump in on the hydrogen fuel cell technology is the lack of hydrogen fueling stations. Progress is being made on that, but it's almost impossible to really use Honda's hydrogen car, or any hydrogen fuel cell car, until we fix the lack of any hydrogen fuel stations. Of course California is leading the way on this, and that's why Hionda has decided to place its Honda Clarity there first. All of us really need to get behind this technology in a big way!!

The BMW company is working really hard on mass producing their hydrogen car too. With Honda and the BMW hydrogen fuel car frenzy, companies are just going to have to start making more hydrogen fuel stations. I don't know about you, but I've about had it with paying for gas. It's time to go green, and Hydrogen is one way to do it.

"Having more than enough of these hydrogen stations will not happen overnight, the hydrogen fueling stations of the future might just be a part of current gasoline stations, or even new standalone stations. At this time California have 23 hydrogen fuel stations across the state, these currently fuel just a fleet of 158. This will never be enough, but there are already plans for another fourteen new fuel stations to be built."

can anyone tell me about the Honda Clarity price? How much does the Honda Clarity cost? The last I heard, these hydrogen cars are expensive, but maybe the costs have gone down???

I just read about the cost of the Honda Clarity Stacey. From what I have gathered, the price of the Honda FCX Clarity is just too outrageous at this point. So that folks can get started with driving hydrogen cars, Honda is setting the first few up for lease only. It looks like the first Honda hydrogen cars to hit the US will be leased for only $600 a month. That only covers the bare minimum, and hydrogen fuel is not included.

With gas prices constantly rising, we really need alternate fuels.

No joke jaci. The price of gas is heading to $5 a pallon where I live. It seems like yesterday when it was only $1. Sigh....
